Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Policy
Hatay Psychologists Association adopts a “Zero Tolerance” approach to sexual exploitation and abuse. As an organization that works with vulnerable individuals, the Association does not tolerate any form of sexual exploitation or abuse by employees, volunteers, business partners, or service providers. The Association believes that all individuals have the right to equal protection regardless of age, gender, culture, race, religion, disability status, sexual identity, or any other difference. This policy applies to all areas of activity of the Hatay Psychologists Association. This includes not only the Association’s central operations but also every stage of programs, projects, and other business relationships.
Sexual exploitation and abuse encompass all forms of inappropriate behavior that can cause physical, emotional, and psychological harm. Such behaviors include, but are not limited to: a) Sexually explicit behaviors, threats, or other degrading actions b) Using a vulnerable individual for sexual acts c) Sexual demands in exchange for money, services, or opportunities d) Emotional manipulation of vulnerable persons (grooming)
Hatay Psychologists Association implements a range of strategies to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse:
Hatay Psychologists Association ensures full compliance with legal regulations in all its activities. This includes, but is not limited to: a) Laws of the Republic of Turkey protecting against sexual harassment, violence, and abuse b) National and local laws in the regions where the Association operates c) United Nations Special Measures for Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse If the content of this policy conflicts with current legal regulations, higher standards will apply. The Association upholds the principle of transparency and complies fully with both national and international legal obligations.
Hatay Psychologists Association expects the following commitments from all partners, contractors, and service providers: a) To implement a zero-tolerance policy against sexual exploitation and abuse and to prevent behaviors that violate this policy. b) To ensure that all employees report suspected or confirmed cases of sexual abuse in accordance with Association policies. c) Failure to fulfill the obligation to report any incident will be considered a serious matter and necessary sanctions will be imposed. d) To ensure that reported incidents are resolved in a secure and confidential manner.
Secure reporting channels will be established by the Hatay Psychologists Association for any questions or concerns related to sexual exploitation and abuse. Additionally, necessary professional assistance will be provided to offer psychological and legal support to victims.
